It has been a busy month. John Jr. became deathly sick (PTL! he is improving daily with his Mom's TLC!). We decided the 45 degree hill we live on has finally won! We are selling our home AND seeking to buy a home not far from the church.
What has that to do with sleeping on the couch?
As I said, my wife is staying with my son in his home, providing him the care he needs and we are selling our home SO, our stairs to the 2nd floor needed repainting. I went to the ACE hardware and they sold me floor paint - (This is important) I didn't read the can and I ASS U MED it was latex; you know, fast drying! Two hours later, it was still sticky. I put a fan on it - 2 hours later - still sticky. At 10 PM I finally read the can: "drying time, 6-8 hours".
Our couch is very comfortable. My wife calls it a, "coma couch". That is were I spent the night. Here is the spiritual part, after your smirking is over - Proverbs 16:33 The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.
Your plans, no matter how reasonable or righteous, do not get an immediate "rubber stamp" from Father God.
Yes, we are directed to plan and prepare: Proverbs 4:26 Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established.
Just because you think it is a good idea, Father always has the best way: Proverbs 16:3 Commit your works unto the LORD, and your thoughts shall be established.
Come on, show of hands - How many of you have slept on the couch?
